ABOUT

Belly Chorus is a vocal music community and laboratory in New York City dedicated to ensemble-led singing from folk, classical, experimental, and popular traditions.

Singers of all or no musical backgrounds are welcome to join. We also serve as a resource for composers experimenting with vocal music. In 2025 we initiated our Composer Collaborations program, leading to four new works created for the ensemble.

We host Pop-Up Singings the first rehearsal of select months, open to everyone who wants to come sing for a night. Our next Pop-Up is Wednesday, May 6th, 2026.
